Byrne JAG funds supported the initial implementation of the Texas Anti-Gang (TAG) Program. The TAG Program provides an opportunity for agencies at all levels to pursue collaborative investigations against the most significant gangs throughout Texas. The program's main goal is to eradicate the presence of violent transnational and other organized gangs within the state to improve the safety of Texans and the citizens of neighboring states. The TAG program focuses on the use of strategic partnerships and targeted, regional and multidisciplinary approaches to combat gang violence through the coordination of gang prevention, intervention and suppression strategies.
