Byrne JAG supports a network of nine (9) Crime Analysis Centers (CACs) across the State of New York. The Division of Criminal Justice Services-supported CACs are multi jurisdictional units that provide in-depth data analytics to gain a comprehensive picture of the criminal environment within the Centers’ geographical areas of responsibility. CACs are comprised of sworn law enforcement and civilian crime analysts that enhance real-time crime-fighting capacity, support informed decision-making in addressing crime, and promote crime prevention and safe communities. DCJS provides staff, equipment, software, training, and program management to support local, state and Federal law enforcement partnerships regionally across the state.
