   Digital Content Coordinator

     The purpose of this position is to continuously improve, optimize, and maintain the content of three Association websites and online communications, in accordance with
     Association guidelines and messaging.

      Reporting to the Director of Communications, the Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for maintaining three association websites, making updates, creating new web
      pages, posting on social media, text and image editing, CMS updates, and resolving web accessibility issues. Must have strong interpersonal skills, work well with others, and
      communicate professionally with colleagues and Association members.

     Duties and Responsibilities:

     Working closely with Director of Communications and Executive Director:

  • PRIMARILY RESPONSIBLE FOR FRONT-END WEBSITE DEVELOPMENT
    • Manage and maintain all websites (NCJA, ICCA, and annual conference)
    • Install, customize, and update website themes
    • Install and update plug-ins
    • Use drag-and-drop page builder plug-ins (Elementor and Bold Grid Premium)
    • Know HTML & CSS (javascript is a plus)
    • Develop content according to best practices and section 508 compliance
    • Manage and maintain NCJA members only content and Connect2Justice private networking community
    • Provide weekly updates to the Connect2Grants database of justice-related funding solicitations
  • BACK-END SUPPORT
    • Navigate AMD and C-Panel functions via web host (InMotion and GoDaddy)
    • Update DNS/website domain records, as needed
    • Liaison with technical vendors
    • Track website analytics and improve SEO
  • CLIENT SUPPORT
    • Address users’ technical issues
    • Provide login support
    • Respond to user inquiries sent via the website contact forms
  • OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Familiarity with uploading content to YouTube
    • Familiarity with online form builders with third party app integrations including JotForm and PayPal
    • Familiarity with SurveyMonkey or other online survey builders
    • Write and edit content
    • Post to NCJA social media feeds
    • Build and manage the annual conference app

     Minimum Required Education:

     Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, computer science, or related field; an equivalent combination of education and work experience, as determined by HR, may
     also be acceptable.

    Qualifications:

  • Experience working with a website content management system or blog content management system.
  • Thorough knowledge of Mac and PC platforms and content management systems such as Drupal or WordPress.
  • Familiarity with 508 compliance and web accessibility.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite including, Illustrator and Photoshop or other image editing software as well as optimization and compression techniques.
  • Experience developing or using web themes and plugins preferred.
  • Familiarity with infographic software a plus
  • Competent proofreading and editing skills.
  • Excellent time management, customer service, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Capacity to handle multiple responsibilities and prioritize projects to stay on top of workflow and strict deadlines.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of directly related work experience.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience managing web sites, enhancing existing content, and writing and editing web content is required.

   Undergraduate Internship Program

     The NCJA offers semester-long and summer internships. This internship program is designed to provide substantive experience in criminal justice policy. Interns primarily
     research and write articles for two weekly newsletters; summarize and analyze criminal justice research reports; report on congressional hearings, Justice Department briefings,
    and other events; and participate in other projects as assigned. Clerical duties are minimal.

    This is a remote position. Interns may work from anywhere in the United States. (*We can offer office space for those preferring to work at an onsite location). The position
    requires access to the Internet, Microsoft Office or similar office suite applications, and a phone.

    Qualified candidates will have excellent writing skills, be inquisitive and hard-working, and have a general interest in criminal justice and/or journalism. Internships are unpaid
    and available on a full-time or part-time basis throughout the academic year and during the summer. While we prefer students to work between 30 and 40 hours per week, we
    can work to accommodate academic schedules.
