Following Tyre Nichols' death at the hands of police in Memphis, TN in January, the co-chairs of President Obama's White House Task Force on 21st Century Policing, Laurie Robinson and Charles Ramsey, called task force members back together to try to answer the question why killings of this kind keep happening.  The task force members, acting unofficially, adopted a "Call to Action" that supports policing's mission embracing not just crime reduction but, more broadly, community safety. This, they said, will involve a "whole of government" and community working together to achieve community safety goals. Action steps in the report include the need for national standards for police, rebuilding the culture of policing organizations, and addressing leadership development.

Please join Co-chair Laurie Robinson, former DOJ Assistant Attorney General and George Mason University Professor Emeritus, to discuss the task force's new report and answer questions.
