This NCJA Quarterly Policy Session will focus on all things Forensic Science. Joining us will be two state crime laboratory directors (one retired) who will discuss the world of forensic science providers. From the crime scene units and crime laboratories to medical examiners and SANE nurses, this presentation will provide a brief overview of "forensic" providers and their unique mission and challenges. Topics include: (1) the current state of forensic science in the United States (2) Backlogs at the laboratory and medical examiner's office and (3) Strategies to help address these issues.  This talk will be supplemented with "real world" casework examples and a Q&A session.  This will be your chance to ask questions of a real-life forensic scientist.
