For those who are new to NCJA, the Advisory Council is composed of the state agency administrator (SAA) from each member state and 12 elected regional representatives. Council members meet at least yearly to conduct association business, network with each other and engage in discussions with their peers about issues, challenges and policy. The meeting on June 21 will take place at the DC Office of Victim Services and Justice Grants, 441 4th St NW. On the first day, we will host a traditional Advisory Council meeting that will include presentations from invited guests and opportunities for policy discussions along with networking and conversation. The meeting on June 22 will take place at the Office of Justice Programs, 850 7th Street, NW. On the second day, we will convene at the Office of Justice Programs to hear from top officials and senior staff with the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Office for Victims of Crime and National Institute of Justice about a wide range of current policy, practice and research. We encourage Advisory Council members to invite your staff to join you on the second day for these important presentations and discussions. We have also arranged opportunities for SAAs and grant managers to participate in special focus groups and for states to participate in a roundtable with with BJA and OVC grant managers.
We know Advisory Council members are eager to see colleagues and network in-person again. We are thrilled to provide that opportunity. We will follow all COVID-19-related protocols that are in place for both Washington, DC and the federal government at the time of this meeting.
