Good morning, this is Bill Scollon, SAA in Tennessee wishing all of you a bright and happy future.

It is with great joy and some trepidation that I will be retiring.  My last day in the office is scheduled for March 29th. It has been a great ride surviving and even thriving under 3 administrations and two political parties. While I have enjoyed the daily challenges of the job I am looking forward to a relaxing 4-6 months of fishing, hiking and rehabbing old furniture (my rainy day hobby).

The 20 years spent working with my NCJA staff and you, my counterparts have, to a great extent, shaped who I am as a professional and as an individual. As a professional, you have inspired me. As a member of NCJA, I am comforted in the direction of the agency and the quality of its members. As a U.S. citizen I am thankful for your dedication and selfless service to your communities. I hope to stay in contact but if you don't hear from me again I want to leave you with the sincerest of thoughts.

Peace, Joy and Love to you all.

Bill, I will really miss you as part of NCJA.  You have been a great member and great person to bounce ideas off of during some pretty intense discussions.  I have enjoyed our discussions about politics and policy and college football.  Whoever tries to replace you certainly has some really big shoes to fill.  Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and talents with the NCJA.  You will be truly be missed.

It was a pleasure and professional privilege to work with you.  Your steady views on criminal justice policy and the advancement of NCJA will continue to benefit us all long after your retirement.

Enjoy the fishing and hiking and try to spend some of that money in South Carolina!
